Since the return of Paul Scholes. Lucky or potentially the masterstroke from Fergie?

Sorry meant to say excluding todays game, I spotted the stat earlier on and meant to put it up before the game.

I'm gonna say master-stroke. Whether or not his performances on the field would've made that much of a difference to our results is debatable, but I think the biggest factor is his influence, especially on the impressionable younger players. Here is a man who has never coveted the media spotlight, never been caught-up in tabloid scandal, never allowed himself to be in a position to let an agent turn his head, and is the absolute model professional in every conceivable way. For the young players at the club, he is the best thing that could happen to their careers.

A backward step as I would have much preferred pogba or god forbid a new midfielder but the stats don't lie.
Not a masterstroke but purely desperation and luck - and the fact that clearly the old man scholes needed a rest to make him effective, Fletcher out and andershite being perpetually wank, he was almost bound to ask the ninja
However the failure to promote youth or purchase young European level midfield talent masks deep rooted problems exposed by the systematic piece by piece demolition of everything united stands for in Europe by bilbao

Masterstroke born out of desperation

Did he start all those games? Can't remember him starting against Arsenal.
I don't think we would have lost to Blackburn, but he wouldn't have prevented our bumming by Newcastle.
I think it says more about the state of the PL than it does about Fergie or Scholes' genius. But Fergie was proved right. Once again. Just like he was with persisting with Evans and Carrick.

Evans I'll give you... he's been great after having a bad year... but he's young and I think he just suffered from a dip in confidence.
But Carrick?... He's been good, for sure... but where's he been? He's not young, he's got no excuses for being rubbish for so many seasons... he owes United more than just this year.
"Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrón and ching' tu madre! Come out from that shit-hole of yours. I have to speak to you."Posted 1 year ago # -
I agree Carrick was awful for two years but what I mean is most managers would have sold him, but Fergie stuck by him and he's been rewarded this season (and the end of last season).
If he'd been shit this season, we would have been in real trouble.

There's no substitute for quality. One of the world's greatest ever midfielders.

carrick has proved me wrong this season as well as many other ranters but let's face it, he was poor for over a season and a half and has really been fortunate that SAF persisted with him ie there was no value in the market for a midfielder
but scholes coming back has taken the pressure off somewhat and his skill is still there for all to see especially against the cannon fodderPosted 1 year ago # -
It's not a masterstroke. A masterstroke would have been pre-empting that the likes of Keane, Giggs and Scholes all eventually needed replacing and signing players who are up to the job.
That such a poor United team is top of the table is a sign of how far the standard of the Premier League has fallen.

did he stick by him or did he have no option but to keep him..

In case you missed it Viera recently said United bringing back Scholes is a sign of desperation
Fergie resonded with: "If it's desperation bringing back the best midfielder in Britain for the last 20 years then I think we can accept that,"
"I think he [Vieira] was programmed for that,"
"Roberto had a wee dig a couple of weeks back. We're all going to play our hand that way. There will be plenty of ammunition for that.
"If you talk about desperation, they played a player the other night who refused to go on the pitch. The manager said he'd never play again and he takes a five-month holiday in Argentina. What is that? Could that come under the description of desperation?"
Mind games etc.

Pointing the finger at Carrick seems a little harsh when consistent underperformers like Andertubs and Nani still draw a wage.

Roy keane in being a bitter prick shocker:
Some will say that he's a cunt but he is our cunt. Not anymore he's not. A complete failure of a manager and failure as a man. Talking bollocks as usual.

as usual keane has selective memory - SAF never said that scholes would never play for united again after his refusal to play in the league cup tie at arsenal, whereas mancini declared tevez as a persona non grata as far as the club was concerned, only to now recall the cunt out of sheer desperation
shame keane needs to spout off shit
fantastic player but now just a bitter and twisted knobPosted 1 year ago # -

That's a strange article... I can only think that it was a chance for Keane to stir shit, because he's mad at Ferguson for criticising his managerial cred.
The article itself has a weird bias... Ferguson didn't start anything... he just responded to Vieiras point about bringing back Scholes... and absolutely everyone, could recognise the flaw in that point... Mancini brought back Tevez.
So why has Keane come down on Ferguson for saying what everyone and his dog was thinking?
It seems to me that Keane would prefer to see City win this year... and this is his way of sticking his tuppence in to try and rattle Ferguson... because I can't see any other reason for this article

thats that cunt whos got a wierd head and always stands at an angle when hes doing reports, and he always pretends to be chewing even though hes not, hes a bellend

I can't believe City are still banging on about this when they so obviously got a huge stroke of luck after Barry's ankle breaker against Stoke. Also, its funny how Viera excludes City from his list of big clubs.
Anyway, more Balotelli shite http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/9172487/Manchester-City-manager-Roberto-Mancini-gives-Mario-Balotelli-a-dressing-down-at-Carrington-training-ground.html
He's been a bit shit recently. Bottling the run in, or just knackered? Silva doesn't seem to finish games anymore either, is he bottling it n all
