Bebe is destined to join the Best Forgotten 11, along with other legends like Bellion, Djemba Djemba, Bosnich, Taibi and Kleberson. I’ll be fair to Veron and Forlan – both class players who just didn’t fit at United…just like Berbatov.

I dunno, Bebe has always looked exactly as he was expected to be coming in: bursting with obvious athletic potential but extremely raw for someone his age. The fact that Besiktas is paying for the privilege of his services for a season, as opposed to just paying his wages, sounds to me like he's given some value by the market, and it would be premature to assume that he's just getting offloaded, plenty have come back from loan improved.
A season in our reserves followed by a season in an easier league? Sounds exactly like the right training program for a lad like this, so I don't see any reason to think he's been written off just yet.
In any case, even if he's a dud in the end, it seems excessive to harp on about this trade in ABU fashion. Transfers have always been the same - you win some, you lose some.

He’s still got time to improve if given the right training: Klose trained and played for a club in the German equivalent of the Northern or Southern Premier League Premier Divisions -the 7th tier league- before playing briefly for a club in the Oberliga Südwest -4th tier league- and being snapped up by Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga 1. I’m not saying Bébé will end up emulating Klose’s performances, but there are players who acquire good fundamentals despite never training in “top, top” teams’ academies.
