Haha, love it
What a fucking shambles
Fuck the FA. They have consistently undermined Capello. They have all but admitted that Redknapp is the next manager, now they're making footballing decisions that should be made by the manager. Fuck 'em

Mourinho to take over for a couple of years until Fergie walks away...?
Redknapp's more likely though.

I'd love it to be Warnock. Every circus needs a clown

Will probably be Arry the Spiv but seeing as the FA is full of surprises who knows.

I'm struggling to give a shit about the England team these days.
Saying that, I'm not surprised he failed with this England team. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. England have, and always will be, massively overrated.

To be fair, the FA did the right thing sacking Terry, but they should have involved Capello, before going public.
And as for Capello... he may have a point about having his authority undermined... but he doesn't seem to grasp the concept that Terry HAD to removed, for the sake of the team... regardless of his guilt or innocence...
And speaking of guilt or innocence... this situation is just as straightforward as the Evra/Suarez case.
Anyone with eyes and Youtube can see exactly what Terry said to Ferdinand... he called him a "black cunt"... how the fuck does he plan to explain that?
Guilty as fuck... OUT!
Capello... what the fuck?... OUT!
This could be the best thing to happen to England.
We've got some talent... maybe not enough to win... but we sure as fuck aren't going to win anything with the team loathing its own captain, and not sure about its coach.
We've got a couple months, and whoever gets the job has got a siege mentality already instilled in the squad...
They've nowt to lose... after this farce, no one will expect much from them anyway, so just go out there and play football, and let's see what happens.

I don't understand that "overrated" tag Sheesh.
Every tournament, the vast majority of fans "hope", we do well, but "expect" failure... how is that overrated?
And considering England is consistently a top 10/15 team in the world rankings... it's not such a stretch to expect them to at least make the last 8 now and then... which we do... now and then.
England is a football mad country... and we want success... we've had some decent teams, and some quality players... haven't won fuck all, but not many teams do... I don't see anything wrong with Englands enthusiasm, even if it goes a little over the top at times... every football crazy nation gets carried away when the big tourneys come round...
"Overrated"...???
Not for me... just excitable... so what?

I think a lot of people still have expectations that the England team should be doing a lot better than it is doing. They look at our players like Gerrard and Lampard, see the clubs they represent and think that we are capable of competing with the likes of Germany, etc.
They forget that the England team is doing no better or worse than they what are capable of.
This is what I mean by "overrated".
That's just my opinion, Alf. You look at countries like Germany. They have a proper international pedigree. England, at international level, are nowhere near them. Why? It's not all down to the manager.
Not only do they lack pedigree, I would also argue that English players are technically inferior to those from countries like Spain and the Netherlands.
On a separate note, I have a feeling that Rafa will throw his name into the hat become England manager for Euro 2012 at least.
Edit - I don't place too much trust in the Fifa rankings. You look at the teams England play in qualifiers. They win 6 games on the trot against a bunch of no-mark teams to get to a tournament and jump a few places in the rankings before failing on the big stage. So what...

This speaks a lot for United too, look at the team that play very regularly for the club.
DDG/Lindergaard
Jones, Rio, Smalling, Evra
Nani, Carrick, Cleverley, Young
Rooney, WelbeckApart from a keeper (England have Hart), a leftback and a winger the rest of the team is English. People want Evra replaced by Baines even. If England can't win the world cup then United will win fuck all.
Sir Ryan Giggs? No no no. Sir Paul Scholes say.Posted 1 year ago # -
Dose anybody really care, it not as if we were going to win anything anyways, bring on the next circus act.

I don't agree at all. The level of football is not actually that high at international level, you don't have to be Barca to get to the quarters. Greece won the Euro cup not so long ago, remember? Some players are definitely overrated, but then you have someone like Scholes, as good as any player in the world in his day, getting marginalised in the national team and eventually quitting in frustration. England definitely has decent enough players to dream big if Greece can win it ffs. In the past few years England had good defenders, some decent midfielders, and few quality forwards. WTF not play Carrick with two others in midfield, and Rooney up front? In fact they should still do that -- Parker, Carrick and Wilshire in midfield, Rooney up front, and two of Young/Ox/Sturridge etc on the flanks and cutting in. There, sorted for you. Maybe Carrick, Wilshire and Gerrard in midfield if he's fit.
The best manager for England would be the likes of Moyes, who knows how to make the best of what he has, doesn't lose his cool, and actually can get teams to play good football in spite of their limitations.

Now the tedious debate about picking an English manager is back in full swing, I see....and so the cycle begins.
I refer to the never-ending "should he be English/should he be foreign" nonsense that we get every few years. Rooney's already kicked this off on Twitter.
The FA listen to the media's pick for the manager's job anyway.

Yep
Other than being English, cockney and loveable, Redknapp gets the job because he is willing to give the fans and the press what they want, which consequently satisfies the FAs criteria
And what they want is a parody of English football; good old fashioned 442 with two bite yer leg types in midfield, two greyhounds out wide and a freak in the mould of Crouch/Carroll up front - while he stands on the touchline beating his cockney chest shouting cliches like THEY DON'T LIKE IT UP 'EM, WIN YOUR PERSONAL BATTLES and EARN THE RIGHT TO PLAY
That's the dream, and that's what he'll give them - while playing his mates who are all shite, like Crouch and Lennon and Defoe and Parker
And we'll get done by the first half decent team who actually pass the ball

Carrick's the litmus test for me. He has his faults, but he's custom built for international football, where no team except for maybe Spain is cohesive enough to press him hard deep in midfield for 90 minutes. Yet no English manager has played him, yet every English manager in recent memory has been total shit. But I'm sure Parker and Gerrard will get it done with blood and guts and being solid in the tackle.

England are a joke
Carrick is the right man to anchor the midfield with possession play with Parker and Wilshire / Gerrard next to him. Hard to agree with Bman more.

Phil Jones, Scott Parker and Wilshere are the only additions to this England team since it peaked in '06 - I'd give Oxlade-Chamberlain a year or two yet.
'Arry's a shoe-in. Hope this doesn't mean L'pool getting a top 4 place at Spurs' expense.
Capello's timing could have been better.Posted 1 year ago # -
Madness and out of touch are words which we use to describe the FA. I know an journo who went to the FA conference today and he wasn't allowed in because he was not English. After about 15 minutes it dawned on the F.A that they might just have more then a few Italian journalists keen to attend this press conference. YCNMIU
Steve Howard in the Sun went for the jugular '£24 million for 4 years and he couldn't learn the language.' If that's his main flaw it's ridiculous. I saw him on goals on Sunday and he has a working knowledge of English.
His job is to manage a team not become some figurehead. I read Harry Winter today and he talked about how Capello failed to grasp the English psyche. This is the same England who didn't qualify for Euro 2008. The Euro 2008 qualifying campaign was proof that the English psyche needed tweaking, it's shouldn't be offensive Germany recognised this 8 years ago as well and brought through more technical players. Spain reinvented themselves after World Cup 98 and Holland after World Cup 02 qualifying.
The number of ill's England have to address before they can punch their weight is huge.
Redknapp will install a bit of pride in the England job and the media and players will like it but he is not a winner.I would love someone to come in and for Euro 2012 to upset the Apple Cart and pick players who will be under 30 come 2014.
The world cup should be the target and they are good players there who would flourish given the chance. The short-sightedness driven be the media will never allow this but all this talk about Terry,Ferdinand,Gerrard and Parker they are not the future and there chance is gone.
