Well my background, upbringing and cultural/religious traditions I follow have probably had more of an influence on me than which country I was born in. It's a personal thing, I guess. I accept that being born, brought up and educated in the UK has 'anglicised' me to some extent but ultimately my background means more to me than place of birth.
I'm sure some British Asians are the exact opposite. It is entirely a personal thing.

I agree, myself being half caste and my French family living in Marseilles has made me somewhat confused as to my own ethnicity at times..however i have settled on being an Afro white- Englishman
