"Good point about Carrick and Scholes. But the England fans wouldn't let them play. Keane pointed out at half time how they jeer and boo when the team knock the ball about between the back four and midfield. They want the ball played early every time.
The commentator put it nicely "sometimes you have to educate the fans as well" aka shut the fuck up and let them play."
The thing about that back four/midfield passing Sid... it's so shite.
And I don't mean boring from a football perspective... I mean rubbish... we're no fuckin good at it.
When a team like Barca or Spain do it... they do it with purpose... side to side, with composure and confidence... moving the ball around... looking for an opening... probing for a chance to switch from "keep ball", to attacking thrust.
England do it, cause they can't find anyone ahead to pass the fuckin ball to...
There's no real point to the passing, except keeping it away from an opposing forward, who presses a bit... to the point where the ball goes back to the keeper and then it's lumped up the field anyway.
Again it comes down to England trying to play a style of football that just doesn't match the game they play week after week in the league... so why bother?
England should hire a Premier league manager... pick proven, in form Premier league players... and go after the opposition with Premier league enthusiasm...
If we lose, we lose... but I'm fuckin sick of the limp, cack handed, dog shit performances we keep churning out.
We NEVER beat opposing teams with the continental style... but as soon as they start moving the ball around quickly, with purpose and attacking intent... we look like a proper team.
Englands best performances have always been when we played like United at its best.
