Just nothing credible. Think we can all forget about Benzema, Ibrahimovic, Sneijder, Ballotelli and all the other bollocks... right now I'd settle for Emile Heskey on a free..
Lack of transfer activity... anyone bored yet?

From the "Florida Standard"
Malcolm Glazer shocked the football world this morning, with the signing of Alexi Lalas. Apparently Lalas was coaxed out of retirement to join the English soccer giants, with the promise that he would partner Wayne Rooney in a "new look" attack... and a plate of biscuits and gravy.
Speaking at Titusville Retirement Center, a subsidiary of First Allied Corporation... the Manchester United owner said that, "the signing of Alexi signified his commitment to the franchise" and assured it's fans that, "the Glazer family is fully prepared to fund whatever players that Alex Ferguson feels would improve the team". He went on to say that, "we have seen the other great teams of the English National League improve their squads, and we want to reassure our many supporters that we will continue to be competetive with Fulham, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Shrewsbury and all the other top teams".
Things then turned rather sour, as Mr Glazer announced that he was cancelling bingo night as he was redirecting funds towards the installation of a coin operated, stewed prune dispenser. In the middle of explaining the financial neccessity of the plan, Mr. Glazer was pelted with single serving tubs of rice pudding and rolled up orthopedic stockings.
More to follow...
"Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrĂ³n and ching' tu madre! Come out from that shit-hole of yours. I have to speak to you."Posted 2 years ago # -

Us under-performing for most of the season but grinding out results, Berbatov and Carrick to have another lousy year at United before Fergie finally decides to get rid, Rooney to score the goals and us relying on our aging players to extract every last drop of effort out of their legs.
PS: I'll happily wager a fiver that we suffer another defensive injury crisis as well.

hate to agree, but... sad but true
Posted 2 years ago # -
Well Ferdinand, Evans, Vidic all injury prone, Evra's got to be close to burn out and Neville is about 58
Posted 2 years ago # -
We need to sell Ferdinand while there's still something worth selling
And Hargreaves
That'll shift the boredom
And how dare you insult Gary Neville in such a way Ed! Wait till AJ hears about this...

I have missed you, Pikey. Now that you're here my life is no longer so empty...

What a bunch of killjoys, at least let me enjoy my fantasies until the window shuts.
Boys and girls, I present the 2010-2011 PL and CL champions:
VDS
Rafael -- Rio -- Vidic -- Evra
Meireles -- Fletcher
Nani -- Anderson -- Balotelli
RooneySubs: Scrabble, Berbatov, Hernandez, Scholes, Valencia, Park, Evans, Fabio

but isn't another season of Scholes , giggs and Neville Just like signing new players.
Plus if Hargreaves gets 3 minutes a game for 3 games will be like signing a new player.
Don't forget that when Anderson is fit and played out of position that he will be a new signing.
and Berbatov running around and beyond the centre circle will mean he is a new player.
Thats 6 new players.
Fuck me we going to win the treble.

Signing Balotelli and Ozil is a dream (just that). No money me thinks.
The last time I got excited about a summer spree was 07/08.
Nani, Anderson and Hargo.
Those were the days...
We are the biggest club in the world. We are Manchester United.Posted 2 years ago # -
you forgot tevez as well
Posted 2 years ago # -
Ah yes Cap! I remember that summer on Rant. We were all gushing!!
And the season ended with the dream double!!
Great times!
Posted 2 years ago # -
but most on here reckon Tevez just runs around...
Posted 2 years ago # -
yes, he did, but at the time his signing was a catalyst for the great success the following season gave.....2 tops signings in Hargreaves and Tevez, and 2 exciting ones in Nani and Anderson...it gave us hope and their was a huge wave of expectation that lifted the club and fans onto a higher plateau.
The fact that all 4 of those signings have ultimately been disappointing for the most part is irrelevant, as what the signings did was add strength in depth, and hope...we dont have that anymore...fuck me, it was only 3 years ago as well...ffs....sign a few and give everyone a lift.

Injuries have not helped tbf. And those 4 players were vital in the double win of that season.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I remember that season when Anderson shat on Fabregas and Gerrard.
Seems ages ago...
Posted 2 years ago # -
and then CQ left and it all went to shit.
Posted 2 years ago # -
07-08. He bossed Fabregas in the 2-2 game at their ground and Stevie Me at Liverpool.
If memory serves me correctly?

Inter 'evaluate' Balotelli bids
Nerazzurri president considers offers for strikerBy Simone Bargellini
Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti admits the club are 'evaluating' bids for striker Mario Balotelli.
The 19-year-old forward has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent weeks, with Premier League neighbours Manchester United and City thought to be interested in his signature.
Nerazzurri sporting director Marco Branca has recently declared Balotelli 'priceless', but Moratti says the club are considering offers.
He told Sky Italia: "Mario has started training again with professionalism. He is a player of great talent.
"He has offers from other clubs and we are evaluating them."
When asked to reveal what he would do if someone made an 'indecent proposal' for Balotelli, he added: "City and United are serious clubs who will be evaluating their transfer strategy.
"For the moment, we are far from this solution."
Fiery striker Balotelli is regarded as a hot prospect for the future and has been tipped by many to move to England this summer.
