Fingers crossed he picks up English quicker than Tevez, Anderson or Valencia ever did

Really good deal and will improve the team.

Everyone seems to rate him so it's good news. This mustn't be the end of our spending though. More work needs to be done.

We'll see.
If he's all we get, he won't be make much difference.
And I'm not holding my breath for the signing that WILL make the difference.

I'm sure you haven't always been this depressing!!
Lighten up, Kagawa looks like the creative spark we've needed!!

just realised that he should be in japans squad when they play the socceroos in a weeks time. happier then ever that i bought tix to the game. hopefully he plays well, but still loses

i have no f-in idea whether he can play or not but it has to be an improvement on what we have now. only concern is that he is too much like park - a bit of a little fucker who falls around a lot. this is fine when you have pace but without it you are basically shit.

sweet, very happy about this. he looks like a proper footballer - hard working, intelligent and skilful.

He's really not very like Park in footballing terms, he's more like Ozil. He looks an excellent signing to me. I've watched a few Dortmund games over the past year or two because they play really entertaining high quality football, and he's one of their best players. Doesn't mean he'll be a success for us of course (see Berba), but he's definitely a type of player we don't currently have.

Good.

you can be a little fucker like messi, fabregas, scholes, nedved but be athletic and hard as nails or you can be a little fucker and just fall around a lot, that's what park is now because he has lost his zip, pace and sharpness due to age. same applies to the twins.
just watch out for our medics too. I'm sure they will do their best to fuck him up.

Fergie really can't use and abuse him. He needs to play where he's most deadly.
He will inevitably be labelled 'the next Park' but he's a much better player. He's a lock picker type who makes things happen - often with just one touch. We'll score some class goals on the counter with him, Nani, Rooney, Valencia etc. Hopefully we'll see less hoofs into the box now n all.

It's good that we've bought some creative talent... we need it... but it looks to me like we just signed a number 10...
We need midfielders... especially a skillful battler... this little bugger will be a very good signing if we also get one of those... otherwise he's just another option for Ferguson to fuck about with, as he tries to make a complete midfield, out of spare parts...

agree we need midfielders so i'm hoping this is not the only signing other than youth.
That said Kagawa should be good for us, providing some creativity from the centre cos our wingplay has become really repetitive this season.

The whole team, (except defence) is a mess in my opinion... a collection of misfits, that works wonders, when the stars are in alignment, but more often than not, struggle to be a proper team.
Rooney... an excellent number 10... without a good enough number 9 to work with.
Nani... a very talented, but ultimately frustrating twat.
Valencia... a very good, traditional right winger... nothing fancy, just get down the line and fire in decent crosses... except we don't have the proper centre forward, to get on the end of them...
No proper left winger, at all... but then again, if we did have one, he'd be in the same boat as Valencia...
Young... what the fuck is Young... really???
And a centre midfield made up of any combination of odds 'n sodds... picked from, two old fogies... one holding player that doesn't like to get his shorts dirty... a Korean who can't keep his shorts clean... a fat Brazilian, who's past it at 23... a Scotsman with a chronic case of the shits... and a David Beckham wanna-be.
There's no future for this team, until Ferguson sorts out the basic positions... it's great having lots of options, but you can't build a cohesive team out of a collection of utility players...

I think we're OK up front. We have variety in attack: Hernandez the poacher, Welbeck who score goals but also links up play much better than Hernandez does and Rooney the all-rounder. My only problem is that Hernandez was useless without the ball last season.

A little harsh I feel!
De Gea
Rafael
Evra
Ferdinand
Vidic
Young
Scholes
Carrick
Valencia
Kagawa
RooneySubs:
Lindegaard
Jones
Smalling
Giggs
Nani
Welbeck
HernandezNot terrible I would say! And capable of playing as a team too, some strong characters in that side.

young is a midtable journeyman cheating gobshite, a one dimensional nothing player who's strangely great for england
taggart seems to fancy him though
Posted 11 months ago # -
Nani has the better skills but is undisciplined and less likely to stick to a game plan. Young and Valencia have 7-8/10 skill sets but also will track back & be relied on to stick to a playing philosophy. Rafael & Evra are two attacking wing backs so should provide balance. Look for United to play a short passing game in the middle of the park and a more direct game on the flanks next season.

"Not terrible I would say!"
Yeah... those are the words that I love to hear about a United side...
ffs...
All you did was list the squad... and that's supposed to make them... "a team"???
Who's the midfield fighter in that squad?... who's the left winger?... and don't just pick the players that can, "do a job there"... that's my point... Ferguson can't afford, or won't spend, to get the players that this team desperately needs... so bodges together 11 players to suit the opposition... sometimes, it rips them apart... and other times, it can't even cope with relegation fodder.
The team of 99, picked itself, week after week... the only time Ferguson made changes was to deal with injuries, suspensions, or give a player some rest.
A solid defence... two good strikers, who worked in tandem... an excellent left footed, left winger... an excellent right footed, right winger... a skilful, ball winning, midfield titan... and a pass master, play maker...
Now that was a team... and they knew how to play as a team.

bit of a disservice to butt, he played the big games ahead of scholes often

"His incredible work-rate and defensive discipline would make it possible for him to play on the left in a 4-4-2"
Oh no

"His ideal position is behind the main striker."
Unless Rooney moves on or SAF drastically changes his formation, I don't see where Kagawa fits into our squad. Of course SAf could play him out of position...

hopefully we return to the fluid front 4 from 08/09, with rooney + 3 from young/nani/kawaga/valencia/welbeck. Hernandez to come off the bench if we need a poacher up top.
of course that would only work if we went out and bought a central midfielder who actually knows how to tackle
