If there's any truth to the story, let's hope the Dutch get knocked out in the group stage. Wouldn't want Strootman having a decent tournament and interesting other clubs.

he won't play anyway
Sir Ryan Giggs? No no no. Sir Paul Scholes say.Posted 11 months ago # -
I love De Rossi. he's the epitome of battling bollocks on the pitch, but has real class too. I wish we'd offered him a massive deal before he renewed his contract - he was going to be a free agent this summer.

Still got a few good years left in him, but he's too old for what he'd cost.

Proper no nonsense player with a fair amount of skill to go with his big bollox.

This twat thinks he's too good for United (and may end up going to City):

He may be talented but I've always thought he was a complete and utter cock.

And Kagawa too. Not to worry though, we'll be left with Welbeck, Hernandez, Kagawa and Powell by the end of this season, with a reduced debt and wage bill.

Anyone see the Powell tweets?

He's an attacking central midfielder - exactly the sort of player we've all been saying we've needed for quite a while now.

We always sign a PL player - which means we have 1 decent signing still to come. Baines, Modric, Tiote and Dembele are the players we've been linked with so far. I reckon we'll spend another 20 million this window (provided we sell Berba) so no Modric. No idea who else has been linked. To be honest, I don't really want Baines, Dembele or Tiote either.
Our record of buying at least 1 PL player/season goes back to 00/01 season when we signed no one. So it will happen. No idea who though - I keep thinking about CMs, but then I make that mistake every year and we still haven't signed one. Fletch isn't going to give up on his career anytime soon so we won't, therefore no Modric/Tiote/Rodwell etc. While Evra is at United, Baines will not come.
Amos has signed a new contract so our 3 'keepers are sorted. Our defence is quite deep already, with no 1st team spots up for grabs and maybe Clyne coming in for RB cover + Fryers stepping up to cover LB while Fabio goes on loan. No new CMs as I've already said. We're well stocked with wingers with Park and Kagawa who can, if needed back up the top 3. If Berbatov does leave, I could see Fergie move for another striker, although I can't think of anyone I'd rather see play ahead of Welbeck and Chicharito.

Villa, Van Persie, Gomez, Ibrahimovic? Obviously we won't get anyone of that calibre, but the point stands. There are plenty of people out there I'd rather see play than Chicharito, especially if he has another hot and cold season.

Was talking about PL + trying to be realistic thinking we're not going to get the likes of van Persie. I'd rather let CHicharito get some more game time than see someone like Cisse come to United - probably the best we could hope for from the PL.

Kwadwo Asamoah is having a medical for Juventus, another apparent target who used twitter to effectively announce where he was off. That'll be Pogba to Udinese then.

If true, SHIT:

Not arsed... Nani can fuck off... I'm sick of the way he plays... he's got a lot of talent, and if he used it properly, he'd be an awesome winger... far better than Valencia... but he's a thick cunt, who just can't grasp the discipline of team work...
Posted 11 months ago # -
Disagree Alf, we need Nani. He's a class act and has become consistent in his x factory skillfulasfuck ness. He deserves a top wage.
Thing is you never know what's really going on with these things. I find it hard to imagine they're negotiating while Portugal are playing in the Euros, and have a massive game coming up. There are no quotes in that article either. I just hope the club don't fuck him about, and he doesn't fuck them about.

Glazernomics might dictate we sell here, and we will get a good price. The Berbatov situation could loom large with Utd not wanting to see an asset drop in value close to the end of his contract like it has with Dimitar.
On the footballing side of things Nani is excellent going forward but lacks discipline which effects his ability to stick to a game plan & defend effectively. This would leave us with Valencia, Young, Park, and dare i say Kagawa to cover the wing spots. Brady & Bebe are possibly ones for the future, with Giggs a veteran option.
This ones in the balance, could go either way.
Posted 11 months ago # -
If we signed Kagawa as Nani's replacement then that's just a waste of where a top player can be at his most effective and we are back to square one in terms of sorting central midfield out.
If we don't intend using Kagawa as a wing option that leaves us with 2 one dimensional players in Young and Valencia. Nani gives us something different. Park is more effective defensively than offensively.
Nani may be brainless and frustrating to watch at his worst but he is unplayable at his best. He has turned it on often enough to make me want him to stick around. I would much rather have him playing for us than against us.
Posted 11 months ago # -
If we go 4-4-2 with Rooney and Welbeck, or Rooney plays in the hole in 4-4-1-1 then Kagawa could play some games on the left wing. However the vast majority of games should be in the no 10 role.

I'm not denying Nani has talent... bags of it... but there isn't a more frustrating player at United... and after 5 years, or whatever it is... he still hasn't changed that, "head down, fuck everyone else, I'm going for it", way of playing... he's still trying to be Ronaldo... and he's not THAT good.
Posted 11 months ago # -
He will never be as good as Ronaldo but, Messi apart, who is? After Rooney he is one of the most important players in the team. Who do you suggest we replace him with? Players of his experience with that much quality and who we are able to afford are hardly a dime a dozen.
We must do everything to keep Nani.

I agree he has an exceptional skill set but todays football is increasingly about shape & a gameplan set by coaches & managers. In that environment we could probably live without Nani, and his direct competition is Tony V, I'd know who I'd pick.

He's there to get assists and score goals, but also to entertain. Players like him are why people fork out £50 quid to see United. Shape and balance have always been important, but you still need skillful players. What you're describing sounds more like England which is an awful thought.

He plays simple balls nowadays, even for Portugal where he's under huge pressure to stand out and do game changing things. He hasn't frustrated me anymore than any other player for a couple of seasons now.

Why are there no rumours about selling anderson? Losing him is like gaining a new player given the drg fsctor he imposes on our play. An abomination.
We must keep nani.
