I've lost a fair bit of respect for van Persie with the way he's dealt with this. Firstly, for showing no loyalty whatsoever to a club that's stuck by him through several injury-prone years, and as soon as he has one good season he looks to jump ship, and secondly for going public like this, knowing it'll have the vultures circling. I do have a begrudging respect for Arsenal and the way they try to play things the right way (both financially and in terms of expansive, exciting football), so I hope he does get his big-money transfer to a mercenary club like City and goes back to being a complete crock again!

Well in these tough economic times who can blame these players for simply trying to get a fair wage...
It's only going to get worse with the rising number of clubs with sugar daddies. Look at those who are opting to play in China, the Middle East, etc. Gyan automatically springs to mind, had been playing decent at Sunderland, scored against England and then buggers off to go and play in the sand. Or the Yak playing in China, Lavezzi going to PSG for the 'challenge'. Agents, advisors, even the players have so much power they can opt to not sign contracts, unless something ridiculous gets offered to them. Then with a year or whatever they declare they are off, leaving clubs a) the option of being held to ransom, b) a year of rotting like Winston Bogarde and then off for a free, c) let the bids roll in, but be in a substantially weakened position because the other vultures know he can leave for free in 12 months time.
Meanwhile they simply watch the £££ signs and go to the highest bidder and spout some bollocks about how it was the clubs vision and passion which brought them there.

Seem so, especially as Ferguson said they had no idea what was going on and hadn't heard from him or the agent. But if they want to pay him £20,000 a week then so be it, again it seems like a waste of a promising talent and questionable how it's once again got to this point but if it is merely a case of these youngsters wanting more a week than people get in a year for a handful of first team appearances then they are deluding themselves, or being delude by there advisors.
Park to QPR for £5 million is doing the rounds at the moment, potentially bullshit (but less so than Park to West Ham on loan which was also kicking about), but makes sense for Fernandes in terms of his Air Asia links and that they were potentially after Seoul Ki Hyeon from Celtic who has since said he fancies going to Spain.

Exactly, what has he done to justify earning that sort of money at 19. Once you cave to one then all of a sudden you've got another 10 youngsters asking for the same. If the attitude is wrong, then United now seem to be leaning towards telling them to do one.
They'll all get rich if they stay and make it, but evidently that isn't enough for some. Interestingly now some stories that Juve are going to pay £1 million compensation rather than the obligatory 300k after previously complaining about that amount. Money to keep United off their case for a possible premature approach? Not that United can exactly complain after potentially doing the same to Le Harve but still. Hope he enjoys which ever dog shit Italian side they co-own or sell him on to.

I think Fergie's been a bit mad lately, fuck he can't keep hold of 18yr old kids, how will he retain his star players later? Rooney had earned his contract by threatening to leave! He's a very good player but not a world beater worth 250k, he was never in the league of Xavi, Iniesta, CRon, Messi, Villa and Drogba.
And he was looking to buy Hazard, of all the places he tries to strengthen our wing with that narcissist footballer 
He buys Kagawa but why?! He plays in Rooney's position, yeah that needed strengthening.
Our strikers have all done well last season, our wingers too were excellent. Fergie's trying to strengthen that - and it's not that he's getting better strikers or wingers than what we actually have.
He sends Fabio out on loan, so who'll cover for Evra at left back?
No midfielder yet, we just have Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs and Scholes. Even buying a squad player would be useful in this position.
Barcelona are not only good at developing youngsters, but they're quite good at keeping them at the club. Fergie can't even keep Fryers.

Right... you don't rate Rooney in the same class as "Xavi, Iniesta, CRon, Messi"... fair enough... I don't agree with all those names, but fair enough, I can understand your point... but Villa and Drogba?... Bollocks!... but anyway... the thing is, Rooney is the most valuable English player since Beckham... even if you don't think he's worth £250,00k a week... the financial reality is... he is.
And as far as holding on to these youth players... well that's a strange one, I admit, but I'm not sure it's Fergusons fault... I still want to know why we've been letting these players run down their contracts... especially if we rate them as highly as we did Pogba... I mean, that's not even good business ffs... if we'd had Pogba tied down for a couple more years, we would have been able to sell him at a proper price...
