I'm not surprised his client is happy. Moura could have his legs amputated tomorrow and not have to worry about money again.

rooney was much much less a risk... in fact rooney wasnt a risk at all.. he was always going to be a top player.. a lot of times forigen players dont work out,i didnt see what all the hype around moura was about.Moura ain't no Rooney, but he's going to be a top player, nailed on, that's why whoever bought him was going to have to pay a top price. You're buying someone who is already a star in Brazil having owned for Sau Paulo, and who has a shitload of caps for Brazil at just 19.
He isn't a risk in the French league either. He'll piss it. He wouldn't have been a risk here, really. His skill, ball retention, pace and shithouseyness would have seen him do very well. He's no Ando.

It's still a shitload for an 18 year old though, Tel, especially 8/9 years agoMoura isn't worth what PSG have paid but Fergie shouldn't attack them on the grounds of value because he's making a fool of himself
how is fergie making a fool of himself? 34mill quid for a 18yr old from the Brazilian league? he hasnt won anything. he cant even make the starting line up of their olympic squad. he's behind neymar and oscar at the very least as the next brazillian wunderkid. it would have been ridiculous if we spent that money on him.
and rooney is completely different. proven in the EPL and was the star of euro's prior to his transfer. rooney was always destined for greatness. everyone could tell.
lucas moura could be the next kaka/ronaldinho etc or he could be the next denilson...the one real betis signed in 1998 for what was a world record transfer fee at the time.

I've already said Moura isn't worth the money, and that he's no Rooney, and that he's a 'hot prosptect' type - so we pretty much agree. What I'm saying is Fergie is talking shit, and can't attack other clubs on the issue of value with a straight face.
The other week he moaned about Chelsea paying Hazard's agent £6m, when we gave Bebe's agent a record 35% (?) of the ridiculous £7/8m we paid for that useless bag of shit. At least Chelsea were getting something for their money.

There are no certainties in this world. That's the going rate for world class potential, clearly at least three teams (PSG, us and Inter) all thought he'd make it, just like Rooney. We're not in the ball game. What is ridiculous is the persistent defence of the lack of spending, because somehow we're above all that now. We weren't above breaking the transfer record virtually every season. Somehow now it's gauche to do it, now we're skint.

Fergie now quoted as saying "the games gone mad" again. Along with "we don't know why Arsenal are behaving this way", ie why won't they sell him on the cheap. Arsenal have their price, we would do the same. Fergie didn't have a problem with the market when he took £80m for Ronaldo - still the transfer record. The man is losing all credibility. For me it was when he said he wouldn't sell Madrid a virus... Then a little while later Ronaldo is gone. Now things are so ridiculous that I don't even bother about what he says anymore.

The closest we'll get to a box-to-box midfielder this season is Giggsy (assuming he's still nailing anything that moves).

I'd heard Witsel was on his way to Real Madrid... (which is good news for them what their depleted midfield of Alonso, Ozil, Khedira, Diarra, Sahin, Granero, Kaka, di Maria, Ronaldo and possibly Modric too)
"Sometimes you look in a field and you see a cow and you think it's a better cow than the one you've got in your own field. It's a fact. Right? And it never really works out that way."Posted 9 months ago # -
I actually like the RvP transfernif it goes through
Yes agree it doesnt address our midfield needs. But I watched most Arsenal games last season and i daresay they stayed in the CL almsot purely because of him. Last season he got goals out of nothing....
If he can be 2/3rd as good as last season he'd be good value to any club...

He just walks away and shrugs like he didnt just break the guys leg in half. What a cunt.

No doubt... Roy Keane at least would have called him a cunt... and then walked away.

Rafael cannot defend for toffee and his brother is no better.
We waste an entire summer going after the more expensive Lucas when the better, cheaper and more necessary player, Oscar, ends up at the Rent Boys.
Nice going.

Can't say I'm a big fan of Rafael either. Were going to struggle at the fullback position this year with both Evra and twin #1 Both defensively suspect...and no reinforcements on the way.

Fergie on 'club business' again? No IPO to sell this time so either we're actually doing something or, at his age, this pre-season has been more gruelling for him than the players.

papers say our bid for persie is 15m, pathetic

Bid for RVP surely has to be mostly performance based - I wouldn't pay 15 up front.

Interesting that the Lewandowski rumours are persisting - makes sense if we want a striker and Arsenal aren't budging. Offer is apparently €30m.

Wenger's sticking to the usual "he's an Arsenal player, we don't want to lose our best players" line, which he used repeatedly in relation to Fabgregas and Nasri if I remember right

We aren't going to sign a midfielder while Fergie is manager
