Absolute waste of money!! I wish we could give him away for free just to free the wage bill. Never could understand the pursuit of him and I for one can not care less where he ends up as long as he is away from Old Trafford and not available for selection.
Was wondering when someone was going to 'bump' this! The guy is a waste of money. He tried hard to miss that simple tap-in yesterday for goodness sake. Am sure his confidence is shot to pieces to be fair. He should please leave in the summer and if we had won the title by then he will leave with two league titles. That should be enough.

too far Cal! how many times did Berbs give ball away compared to Rooney?
He got us the 3 points and that took bollocks - esp., since he is being laughed at in his own changing room.
agree that we wld be more effective with two players - such as rooney and berbs who wouldn't get in the way of each other but give him credit. he is number one scorer in league - and has madea huge contribution to getting is in position.
anyway, it's clear that we need someone for effective than berbs long term - he is a genius but he just doesn't fit in out system

I do not have to explain anything to you. NOTHING. You come on here and write just as much rubbish as the next person depending on the view of the reader; but I try never to come on here to question people's views in the way some of you do.
There are stats to back up Berba's contribution to where we are this season and they can not be changed. Yesterday's was his third 'winner' I think. HOWEVER, I can not stop feeling that he is just not right for us. The manager even explained that it was Brown going off that got him on!! What does that say of him and his contributions? We are all seeing how Rooney's game has benefited with a sharper quicker forward ahead of him. United play best at pace, with quick one-touch balls to the forwards and then wide for the cross or the wideman cutting in to have a strike. Berbatov slows us down. You do not agree? Your choice. Don't tell me it is ridiculous to think he is a waste of money.
Veron even has a championship winners medal you know.

Cal, it's one thing to say that a player is a waste of money. I fully accept that there are fans who think Berbatov has failed to live up to his price tag and fair enough.
But then it's another thing to criticise a player just for the sake of criticising him - which is what I think you are doing here. He scored a winning goal yesterday, which is all we could realistically ask of him, yet you criticise him for that.
Other than score, what else could he have done yesterday?
I appreciate that you don't like Berbatov but then to have a go at him for "trying to miss a simple tap-in" is a bit silly.
There's plenty to criticise about yesterday's performance from the team but Berbatov's goal isn't one of them.
Sheesh is right - clearly Disneyland and Mickey Mouse is affecting Cal more than usual!!

and i still say lay off berbatov - if u really think he was a waste of money, try looking at anderson for an individual who cost a horrendous amount for little return
berbs has 20 league goals thus far this season and i'm confident he will get more - if he has someone up front to play with and not the sole target man since he cannot function effectively in that role. he is a confidence player and i really think he has learnt from all the criticism laid on his head towards the end of last season.

Well its going to be an interesting summer for Berba. He will either be offered a new contract or will be sold - his contract expires summer 2012. Big call on both sides as it will be his last decent contract now he's 30. His play does suit Spain or Italy more with the slower pace of game, but he is a very good player on his day.

I can't really understand some of the criticism of Berbs... a couple years ago, the complaint was not enough goals... now he's scoring for fun and you're still giving him grief.
20 goals and he's not even a regular starter... I think he'd have hit 30+ easily, had he played the games... that's not cheese... that's proper top striker numbers... and still some whine.
I can understand the argument that he doesn't suit everyones perceived idea of how we should play... take that up with Gill and Ferguson... they scouted him for 2 years, and decided he was what they wanted... and for that matter, many here did as well...
So we signed him... and he did this...
... and you all had a wank.
It didn't always work out, but he's been far from our worst signing... and on a purely fundamental level, he's done exacly what he was bought for.
You don't like him, I don't get it but, fair enough... but he's done nothing wrong... he plays when and how he's asked... he keeps a low profile and gives the club it's full due respect...
He came to United with the MAJORITY thrilled about it... he played HIS game and stuck to HIS job... and now some have decided that they don't like what HIS game is...
So now he's a cunt!

Before we get on to the meat of this transfer story, The Sun describe Dimi Berbatov as 'fed-up' in the paper this morning, which is more or less perfect.
Anyway, accurate description of Buglarians aside, the paper reports that so fed-up is the United number 9 that a couple of clubs in Italy have spoken to his agent about moving to Serie A.
Juventus and Genoa are those clubs, who are looking to take advantage of Berba's grumpiness, caused by Sir Alex Ferguson's preference for Javier Hernandez in recent weeks.
The paper claims Genoa are willing to pay £9million for the striker, whose contract expires in 2012."

The gimps just wouldnt sanction a sale of 9 mill - that's a loss of over 20 mill! United will consider offers over 20 mill, if not he will get a new contract.
I think fans have a real issue with the way he plays. They want players to put in a working class shift and haven't got time for a Bulgarian prince who strolls round. Put that aside he's scored over 20 goals this season despite not starting all the time. He definitely has his uses.

dunna get me wrong he is class....but not what we need....other than the tap in at the weekend (very important goal btw) he's not really done it when it matters...fergie clearly questions his bollocks and has more faith in Rooney (rightly so) and Hernandez....rightly so too imo

Good points Sheesh. I apologise. Have not seen Mickey to be fair. Saw a bit of Cinderella but to be fair I have been more of photographer than a tourist.
