American Lie

Long long time ago, I can still remember, how the Stretford Paddock drove me wild
I knew that if I did my time, up those steps then I would climb and Busby’s love would hold me like a child
The ’85 start made me shiver, at those 10 games Fat Ron delivered
Then 91 through 2005, I’ve never felt so much alive
I don’t remember much about, the day our leaders sold us out
In Glazers trough they’ve stuck their snouts, of that there is no doubt

So fuck off little weasel dearest Malcolm bye bye
Trade our soul to get a Chevy as the debt was so high
Fergie’s sold us down the river, guess that makes him a twat
Hang on…. Real fans aren’t allowed to say that, real fans aren’t allowed to say that

Do you recall great goals from Spark, and chased at night through Stanley park (or soaking wet in Rotterdam)?
Your Grandad’s handed-down ST, replacing worthless LMTB, token sheets, pay on the gate
Well we know the richest club’s in shit, trading heritage for debt and PIKs
Net spending’s truly bizarre, disenfranchised that’s what we are
Our leader’s lapdogs say ‘you can’t say that’ (with their half-n-half scarves and jester’s hats)
But you’re the ones they thought about, the day they sold us out

So fuck off little weasel dearest Malcolm bye bye
Trade our soul to get a Chevy as the debt was so high
Fergie’s sold us down the river, guess that makes him a twat
Hang on…. real fans aren’t allowed to say that, real fans aren’t allowed to say that

I met a lad who watched the Blues, and I asked him for his derby views, he just laughed and walked away
I went back to the Stretford end, to find my bones they wouldn’t mend
And the steward said ‘what the fuck do you want you raggy arsed pariah?’
And on the networks the apologists screamed, the old guard cried, still the Glazers beamed
The Real Fans remain outspoken, their spirit’ll not be broken
And the greatest manager we’ve had throughout, who brought an end to the 25 year drought
He forgot his roots (of that, there’s no doubt), the day he sold us out

And we were singing…

So fuck off little weasel dearest Malcolm bye bye
Trade our soul to get a Chevy as the debt was so high
Fergie’s sold us down the river, guess that makes him a twat
Hang on…. Real fans aren’t allowed to say that, real fans aren’t allowed to say that

    Good effort Mate…

Alf, I think this better than just a good effort. Tried to sing it but not so sure how it sounds: I know the original McLean song and love the way Fergie is featured here. Nice to hear from any of the more musical Rant gang if they can sing it. We need an anti- glazer anthem, that’s 4 sure

Anybody fancy printing some ‘NOT REAL NYSE:MANU FAN’ T-Shirts for charity? I wonder how many of us out there fall into that ‘category’.

  • never beaten only run out me time

I really think fergie has made a real mistake this time by backing the cunts in this way. Everywhere I look there is ppl talking shit about him. I still think he is a legend but I feel if we do’t win anything this year the “real fans” will be on his back. And mark these words we will sign nobody else this year all this van persie and moura talk was just to boost the IPO. cunts. LUHG

“As such, the question begs, how good might things be, or have been in recent years (putting trophies won to one side), were it not for the Glazers? In truth, looking back we’ll never know”

The club would have been better of, and money would have been available for the club to compete in the transfer market. Most of the best players who snubbed us would have jumped at the opportunity to play for us.

mig78… any chance that you’re the writer, “Mr. Grant”?
I hope so… that way I can address you, “the writer”, directly.
    Bollocks!
An awful lot of criticism for anyone who dares to have lost faith in our great Fergie… even uses the term “moronic ineptitude”… and uses it very badly in my opinion… but the defence of Fergie is based on nothing more than the writers “opinion”, that Fergie is too wonderful to be such a self serving cunt!
The “FACTS” suggest otherwise… Ferguson has made his bed with the Glazers… only he knows why… but in doing so, and with the unwavering support that he’s given them, he’s turned his back on all but the most naive of United fans… those who don’t give a shit what the Glazers do with our club… and it should be no surprise that those “moronic ineptitudes” have turned their backs on him.

“Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don’t need badges. I don’t have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrón and ching’ tu madre! Come out from that shit-hole of yours. I have to speak to you.”

  • Just1n

The only moronic ineptitude shown in this entire episode was Fergie for his comments on “real fans”. Totally unnecessary and way below the belt. And for another example of moronic ineptitude you can add the court proceedings over a fucking racehorse.

By the way… I’ve posted my reply on that site… anyone who agrees with me might want to pop in and help… …cause judging by the other replies, I’ll probably get hammered for it.
That’s if they decide to allow it of course… after all… I did use the word “cunt”.

Alf, I didn’t read the content very well, but the tone is a dead giveaway: the whole “discourse” is one of speaking down to those who couldn’t possibly figure out what is really going on and would stoop question or even impugn the great mind and soul that is Sir AF. I find it sickening

    @Alfonso,

why not you answer the writer’s reply to your comment. Putting multiple exclamation mark evry now and then doesn’t add any strength to your claim. And please also read SAF comments on you guys claim that he’s defending the Glazers for personal benefit. For pity’s sake, respect the man. Try to put your self in his boot, what options he has got? Let evrything he has built go down the drain?
I hate the blood sucking glazers as much as evry ManUtd fan. But to put Fergie into the same bracket? I might as well quit football forever. I chose the club it didn’t choose me.

If you think the article is something… check out his reply to what I wrote.

    What a turnip!

I can’t even be arsed to reply to that dreck.

Get a grip Mate… there’s two sides to this story… the one Ferguson and the Glazers want you to believe, and the truth… in some case they might be the same thing… but just blindly accepting what they tell you is naive at best… and criminally stupid at worst.
If you want to accept Fergusons word… that’s fine… you’re perfectly entitled to your beliefs, just like that numpty, Mr. Grant… but you’ve got some front, coming onto this forum and wagging your bony finger at anyone, when your argument is so poor.
I checked out that article that you referred us all to… I even chipped in an opinion… and read the reply… but your Mr. Grants’ position is so ridiculous, I can’t even be bothered to argue with him.
But I tell you what… if you would like to go back there and tell Grant, that I said he’s full of shit, and I call him out, to come HERE and we’ll have this debate good and proper.
I somehow doubt he’d leave the comfort of his little blog though…

I’ve never heard of this site. This is the worst kind of brown-nosing I’ve ever read. Does anyone know this guy?

  • Sam

Fergie’s brought us 12 titles and 2 European cups, “he forgets his roots” so have some other people who appear to show no gratitude whatsoever. If people hate the Glazers fine but when it comes to Fergie, ever hear the phrase “don’t bite the hand that feeds you”, whether he is opposed to Glazer ownership or not, what can he do? So if he comes out and says, “I oppose the Glazers ownership of Manchester United”, only one sides going to win that battle and its not Fergie, and then we’ll be in an even worse situation. Few people like the Glazers, I don’t like the idea that they bought Man United with money they didn’t have and now they’re taking a lot of money out of the club to repay debt, but they aren’t exactly going to go anywhere, any time soon. As for how different things would be no one knows, personally I don’t think it would of been much different. Everyone criticises how we have no money, but in, my humble opinion, I think we have a reasonable amount of money, but it’s not used as effectively as it should be, I mean 28 million on Anderson, when Chelsea sign Oscar for 26 million, someone who seems sure to become a class player. Obviously they were bought at different times but look at a player like Nuri Sahin, 22 when he signed for Madrid, a very good central midfielder with further potential and he cost Real 10 million Euro’s. I think people are missing issues like that before jumping to “we have no money!”

Sam – Hello, welcome to the site. United will post an EBITDA (cash profits) of around £100m in FY 2011/12, but it seems a book loss. Yes, loads of money… but it all disappears to the banks.

      • Sam

Is there actual proof of that money going into banks to pay off debt or what not. How do we know money is being made available for transfers, just Ferguson is not using it? From my limited perspective that kind of information is disclosed behind closed doors. Please, don’t think I ask those questions for the sake of creating a counter argument, I ask them genuinely because I don’t know much on the subject and I’m trying to create a base of knowledge to form some understanding of the subject. A lot of what I hear seems to be opinion that is rarely backed up by evidence.
