Remembering 1999

United’s record against German giants Bayern Munich reads seven competitive matches played and one victory. But what a match that was. United’s 2-1 win in Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium 11 years ago still ranks among the greatest highlights in the history of the club. Tonight’s fixture cannot compete but this should put you in the mood…

I know this is slightly eeeevil of me, but one of my fondest memories of that night is Samuel Kuffour crying at the end of the game.

    Thank you for reminding, Ed!

This match made the German side legends too.

Noticed it just now – their goal was rehearsed, the way Babbel turned and ran to give the way to the ball.

still gives me goose bumps all these years later even though I know the result……amazing!!
