I genuinely hope Jose had a word with him after the game. It was a momentus moment, especially being subbed for Rooney who made his pro debut at 16. We need to make the cunt feel loved after Barca are sniffing around him, just an arm round the shoulder and some positivity post match is crucial.
I thinks it's absurd he wouldn't have done!
And whatever the circumstances ...Jose has still given a load of kids a good game to play in...none of them will think it was a pointless game! They will always remember it ...
And the Gomes debut was a nice touch...especially since Jose knew everyone would be talking about him and wanting to know more about him...
They will all be thankful to Jose for Sunday and id be more than surprised if he didn't speak to them!

Future will be bright with a few of these kids blended in with a few more world class ready made players

Very interesting piece mainly on Angel Gomes...

I'll be hating on Jose if this happens...

Interesting that he's seen as a 6 rather than a 10. Good. There's loads of 10s but there aren't any young Scholes like 6s that can dictate a game. I mean he's fucking special. Howson's assessment is bang on. He doesn't sprint because he doesn't have to, he dictates with movement, position, unflappable technique. He's on Barca's radar for a reason.

Like I said last season Gomes has to make that transition to he first team otherwise we'll lose him. Jose has signed a lot of talent, but he's let the odd one go as well, and one of em's arguably the best player in the Prem at the min in De Bruyne. So we'll see. He'll be 18 at the start of next season so he'll want to be at least training with the first team. This is the last season we can ignore him. Jose needs to factor him in to next seasons plans now. Don't wait.

Yea I agree
As Howson says he doesn't have to be starting first team games his year but there needs to be a clear path and plan for him- training with the first team etc

City lost their best young talent in Sancho, I will be raging if we lose Gomes

Aye he can play in cup games and maybe against the riff raff. See how he does. If he's still dictating games then we have a player.

It does worry me we let Fosu Mensah go on loan and Tuanzabe in my opinion could have at least stepped up to Lindeloffs buy unless we sell Smalling which seems to be the plan.

But yeah, Gomes should start with Herrera and acarrickbon Wednesday, a veteran who will help him and an experienced senior who'll back him up. Jose doesn't like massive senior squads but if you've two or three good youth players not on loan then why not play the
Well I suppose that's the knighthood fucked.

We've got Rojo coming back, who looked like a contender for a starting sport beside Bailly. I think Smalling might have left if Rojo hadn't been injured.

Apparently, we've tied this kid to a new contract...

Maybe there's hope yet, for our shit outfit!

I hope it's because Jose has given him assurances that he'll actually play
