Reports today say that Martial wants to stay. It's pretty clear the club want him to stay too. He's a proper United player, not a Jose player, and therein lies the problem.

But this is significant in its the club & player overruling the manager. It's the club saying get more value out of the half a fucking bil and most expensive wage bill in sport.

What changed for Martial? Must think Mourinho's leaving?

It's because Zidane called him and told him (in French) that he's taking over from Mourinho.

Or maybe it's because no other club came in for him during the summer and he's realised he's going to have to play well for a while to become more marketable.

This.

He’s been fucking dire for a while, which as some say is all Jose’s fault. However, his attitude looks piss poor from a distance which may put some off.

He’s clearly got the ability to become great just not sure about his mentality.

He seems to have a decent attitude IMO. Keeps himself to himself and focuses on his private life.

Honestly think he's one of those who needs to just play, make errors, get up and go again. When Hazard or Sane lose the ball their shoulders don't drop because they know their managers back their talent and if they keep plugging away it'll happen for them. Jose is so much about fine margins, he gets one game every 2-3 weeks, makes a mistake or two then gets hooked or lambasted. Imagine Fergie doing that to Giggsy back in the day.

Agreed. How many times do you see Sterling give the ball away for city, but just keeps going because pep loves him and sterling knows it

Spot the fuck on. No one dare make a mistake because we get so few chances in games and because Jose will hammer them publicly.

The cunts too scared to publicly hammer them now! He’s been told off from above!

Publicly hammering players isn't the only way, in fact i think you'll find in life hammering people is really only useful for controlling large, uncooperative groups of people. It's a very blunt tool...... It's particularly ironic given how well Jose handles being hammered in public.
