Glazer austerity doesn't allow us to keep pace with other grounds

Everton's new stadium looks great. Not another soulless bowl either.

You know how certain grounds have been termed as 'quaint' and 'traditional', like Highbury, Goodison, Upton Park? That'll be Old Trafford soon.

A relic of the past, aye. I was against new stadiums because they were expensive soulless bowls. But Tottenham's changed the game. It's actually improved the atmosphere. Everton's new ground will too cos it follows the same principles (rectangle shape, single tier stands, close together). We can't even fix the leaky roof.

Not even looking for a new stadium, just some investment in the current infrastructure.. its definitely going to get a lot worse, before it gets any better!

Yeah I was just reading that. Devastating. The total incompetence of Woodward laid bare. Highest wage bill in the league ffs. For this squad.

And the Glazer takeover in general, a leveraged buy out, with nearly 1bn going on debt and nearly 100m going to the Glazers - that's on top of the 100m in directors fees of which the Glazers take a significant slice. That's wrong at the best of times, but especially when the club is decending into obscurity.

This is why they won't sell or seriously improve the footballing structure of the club, because to them nothing has changed, they're still making shitloads of dough.

Fuck....that's a depressing read. You don't want to believe it, because it's your club, but you can see the deterioration over the years. And why should anyone be surprised, they are doing exactly the same Stateside (https://thepewterplank.com/2019/06/27/t ... g-england/).

Reality is, nothing will change. They are making a 'ROI' and Woodward is instrumental in this, so why change what ain't broke. Maybe in 25 year or so, when the current owners and CEO are dead, we might start getting things in place.
