Put a proper cap on players' wages and you could have a load of dosh to play with.

EFL clubs agree to put their support behind Project Big Picture

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... ig-picture

It could actually happen this. Some clubs are weeks away from not existing anymore. And that 250m is immediate. The money hits the bank account straight away.

It's pretty sick to see United & Liverpool hold these clubs to ransom. Agree or face oblivion. 250m is a lot but smallfry when you think the Glazers have paid double that and then some in interest. And then double that and then some on refinancing. And then half that in dividends. Literally a billion wasted. A quarter of that would save English football. Fucked up
The rich but profit-oriented clubs like United and Liverpool are now also even more motivated to maximize revenue and take control of the PL because of the Chelsea/City/maybe Saudi Arabia phenomenon. United and Liverpool still have a fuckload more supporters (or just interested potential viewers around the world) than the likes of City and Chelsea. Coronavirus has given them the chance to try to cash in on that.

The latest: David Bernstein to call for independent regulation in fight over football’s future

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... all-future

Am I right in thinking they're trying to give the FA more power for if/when the top 6 assume control?

Does Ronaldo testing positive for Covid mean Bruno has to isolate for a while and miss some matches? That would be shite, although VDB a could step in.

Manchester United and Liverpool forced into Project Big Picture climbdown

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... ig-picture

Hah! Read the article, Woodward and the cunt from Liverpool had a terrible time in the meeting. Everton demanded an apology but the pair of twats backtracked and said it was merely one idea of many. Yeah right.

I'd say it's only the beginning of the negotiation, and I wouldn't be surprised if the big clubs manage to get most of what they want in the end. They've slyly now got all the EFL clubs on their side. United and Liverpool offered them $250M, but they've only been given $50M instead. The longer stadiums are closed, the longer things shift in favour of the clubs with money to throw around. So it's all the clubs in England against 14 PL clubs. They can probably swing a few more PL clubs on board by making the "big six" a "big ten", including the likes of Everton.

This could well have been a factor in the Sancho farce. First of all, obviously coming up with this plan took up a lot of club's attention. I'm wondering also if United and Liverpool wanted to keep more cash on hand for reasons they weren't admitting to, in order to make good on their $250M offer.
