Assessing our squad

Apparently we've wheeled out Fergie (again) to try and tempt Ronaldo to stay. You know, bollocks to signing top players and building a squad to show proper ambition and win stuff, just wheel the old man out to try and tug at the heart strings.
ETH shouldn't allow Ronaldo to leave without signing a replacement. It's not ideal but it's either that or ETH will get the boot if he relies on crap like Martial or Rashford.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑1 year agoRonaldo doesn't want to be here and Hag can't buy a top (or any) striker without backing from the Board. And that backing, at best, is highly questionable.dozer wrote: ↑1 year agoRonaldo or a new striker. The fans and the club will want him out.
No manager must trust players who've established themselves as crap, consistently over many years with different managers.

That's naive Dozer. If Ronaldo wants out and is adamant, we ain't keeping him in the shadows, on £500K per week, stropping around while Hag is trying to build a proper team ethic and culture.
I hear you but the alternative is Martial who isn't exactly an embodiment of team ethic and culture. Clubs have kept players who wanted to leave before if the circumstances demand it.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑1 year ago That's naive Dozer. What this conversation boils down to is what I’ve been saying: TH will fail because United as an organisation will fail. This transfer window is not good. Not good at all. And you can be certain the club will splurge some money at the last minute on an attacker or two to put a positive gloss on things. But they’ll only sign whoever is made available to them. We’re so fucking reactive. Agents and other clubs decide our transfer business for us.
Is it possible he was dragged down by Pogba?

Ronaldo has apparently told ETH he wants out, that he wants to be part of a winning project for the 2 or 3 years left in him. But no one wants him, which is a slap in the face I bet.
It's good news as far as I'm concerned. The team will play better without him and perhaps Bruno will come out from under Ronnie's huge shadow and be the player he was during 2020-21.
Leaves us short upfront but fuck it, we weren't going to win fuck all with Ronnie upfront and we won't win anything without him.
