Herrera's a good player. Bit of a water carrier, sure, but he's got a classier pass on him than most in that role. He's better than, say, Henderson.

I read an interesting story somewhere yesterday that our Spanish contingent could all be out by next season ... they could see Herrera, Mata and DDG leave....
Their reasonings made sense and I could see it tbf

I'd be ok with it if we sign proper replacements

Even under the regimented LVG, Mata and Herreras best games when Herrera was on the right of cm and Mata was right sides wide forward.

Herrera has played one game this season, Carrick was getting on last year so Jose played Herrera at 6 in sons games and his tackling and passing were great, he also took responsibility and got stuck in defending his own players.

Just because we don't always use them correctly doesn't make them bad players.

Sure we'll play Pogba at lb and Lakaku out wide and see how great they are.

Losing Herrera and Mata, two of the best squad players if that's what you want to call then, and great influences in the dressing room and both love the club even though Matas on his third United manager already.

We'd let them go for fuck all and they'd go and do well elsewhere. I just don't get it.

Herrera has his first game of the season in a game we were all over the show, he's a great all rounder who knocks his ballix in, can tackle pass, will pop up with the odd goal especially if playing at 8.

Mata is a wee magician, we are getting so spoilt, Pogba had a poor game pushing up at 10 but that's not his game and anyway we can't criticise any Jose signings, or else it's world war 3.

Mickey T, a number 10 who's looked great recently is shunted out wide and isn't as good, wow, shocking.

Fuck me, get rid!! Any player who can't play in positions that aren't natural to them, sell them all! Get a team of O'Sheas in and bring Perriera back with Fosu Menzah and Jones because they can play defence and midfield.

This team is finally gelling in a 4231 and people want to bin quality and spend more money! Wise up!
Well I suppose that's the knighthood fucked.

Matic is better than him in all of those areas. Most top players are.
Herrera is at best decent at all of those skills.

Or to put in an other way I don't see a top club buying him to start every game or even be an impact player coming off the bench. He'd be a good squaddie in a top club though, and also in ours.

Yeah I'm agreeing Einstein, Herrera isn't as good a dm as Matic because Matic is a dm but Herrera is a better dm than Pogba but Pogba the better footballer.

If he plays Matic and Herrera for Pogba giving him a bit more attacking freedom and plays Mickey T at 10 and Rashtial on the left and Mata on the right, I don't see a problem, Herrera given a run of games alongside Matic Ice no problem with because he's enough all round talent and work rate to allow Mickey T Mata Rashford Martial Lakaku etc. to do their thing.

Plus Pogba will probably return about the same time as Zlatan which will give the squad a boost.

Shaw's had three games I think now at under 23 so I'd give him the left position, if not the weekend then in the league cup.

Maybe play Matic in the league then Carrick Herrera and Fellani behind the other Martford that's not playing lam but he'll probably play Lingard. Expect a lot more Carrick and Fellani because we can't risk Matic in every game nor Herrera imho seeing as we've let Perriera go on loan along with Fosu Mensah and Pogbas out.
Well I suppose that's the knighthood fucked.
