And don't forget the players we could have had but didn't like Strootman and Eriksen for a combined £28 million. There just seems to be no coherent transfer policy, as an example did we really need Sanchez when there are glaring deficiencies in other areas of the team? You only have to look at City to see how a proper transfer policy works.

On paper we have a good/very good first XI and subs aren’t too shabby. They just have to play in a way that when you win you can put up with, if you lose, the style gets rightly called out because there’s no victory so the whole excercise wasn’t worth it.

You tell me this is a team really really lacking on paper from players on our books we could be/are using

DDG

TV Bailey Rojo Shaw

Matic

McT Pogba

Sanchez Lakaku Rashford

Team 2

Romero

Fosu Tuanzabe Jones Young

Carrick Herrera

Lingard Mata Perriera

Martial

Subs/not used/dross/whatever

Zlatan Smalling Darmian Fellani Blind couple of good young keepers Gomez and Chong next breakthrough stars

Fuck me, get Perriera and Fosu back, ditch 4 say with two retiring/semi retiring to America,

Sign another midfielder and an actual wide man other than Sanchez and you can not complain about that team.

Sanchez Pogba DDG Bailey Matic, the likes of Rashford Martial, young defenders who deserve a chance, Shaw who’s come back from injury spot on, no brainer,

And we have the cheek to moan about other teams!!!!

You can’t pick an 11 to play exciting non-nullify and hope football out of that team plus another £200 mill or so?

Then you shouldn’t manage a top club.

I like the look of that Maguire at Leicester. Not exactly Rio but he's better than anything we've got.

I thought the same when we played them.

Have we had a Harry at the club since Munich?

Odds on Perisic joining and Martial leaving have been cut

I'd be fucking sad if that happened. A one dimensional cunt replacing a future x factor cunt - not on.

Aye, lots of senior players and hard workers that a modern attacking coach wouldn't know what to do with. We'd need a complete refit, another half a bil easy.

It might be better to get rid sooner rather than later while we still have x factor / quality players like Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Mata, all of who have been linked with moves this summer. I wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez was gone eventually too. He's looking more and more pissed off.

If things carry on like this into next season the board are going to have decide whether they back the most expensive squad in sport and believe it's good enough, or the manager

If Jose's being sacked he should be sacked in the middle of the season so that the new manager knows his players.
One problem we've had is new managers giving out clean slates to players which is why players like Smalling and Jones are still plying here.

If we get a new manager, he must come sometime in the middle of the season; work with the team, decide whom to keep and whom to let go and work onwards.

Wasn't it long rumoured that he'd got the job and he'd even sent a long letter to the United directors explaining what was wrong and what was needed? I realise that doesn't mean he was working with the players day in day out in training but surely, given he had the balls to "secretly" tell United what LVG was doing wrong, he'd been studying the squad quite hard already. In the end, though, he's still had plenty of time to get rid of Smalling and Jones if he really wants to.
