And Sancho too.
Bullshit. I'll believe it when I see it
Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III
bman2 wrote: ↑4 years ago Season ticket renewal time. MEN, Telegraph, Standard etc running stories saying Woodward wants to sign 3-5 player in the summer, with the usual suspects "linked" to us, Maddison, Grealish, Sancho, van de Beek, etc.
What we'll actually get is Zaha for £80M and whichever of the Longstaff brothers is shittest. Sales of Pogba and Smalling will mostly cover it.
You see the genius of getting zaha for 80m is that the club will make 20 mill back from the buy on clause.. woodward transfer guru.
Chelsea have apparently signed Ziyech for the summer. He's the best alternative to Sancho, so all our hopes are pinned on Sancho now... Can easily see us going through the summer without signing someone for right wing again.
The rebuild has no credibility. I'd have more confidence if we were actually showing some savvy in the transfer market. Haaland turned us down, his agent openly mocking the club. That's unprofessional of Raiola, but you can be sure a lot of people in the sport agree with him more discreetly. We've made no impressive signings, just signed obvious choices for their full advertised price (Maguire, Bissaka, Fernandes). I'm not saying they're bad players, but any fan on a forum could have suggested those players, so what is the point in us apparently having the largest scouting network in the world? We have more scouts on the payroll than any other club. In Fernandes case, we could have had him last summer, we only managed to get him at the very end of January. And Sporting's president gave an interview a few days later admitting he had been shitting himself, the club is skint, they had to sell Fernandes. Should have been the easiest signing in the world.

Against all logic and my better judgement, I actually think we will get Sancho in the summer. I know I called it bullshit earlier, but if he does leave Dortmund, I think he'll come here.
Why do you think this?Edfuckingwoodward wrote: ↑4 years ago Against all logic and my better judgement, I actually think we will get Sancho in the summer. I know I called it bullshit earlier, but if he does leave Dortmund, I think he'll come here.
We're in with a chance simply because we're one of the few clubs that might pay what Dortmund are asking for. But from a footballing perspective, Sancho would surely prefer Liverpool or City, or somewhere like Real.dozer wrote: ↑4 years agoWhy do you think this?Edfuckingwoodward wrote: ↑4 years ago Against all logic and my better judgement, I actually think we will get Sancho in the summer. Broadly, this is why I think it'll happen. I don't see City being in for him - they won't pay 120m, and I don't think he'd go back there as he left on rather sour terms. I also think he'd need to consider the competition in their squad. Liverpool - not sure they have that cash and even if they do, would they spend it on someone who'd essentially be up against Salah for a spot? Don't think so. Arsenal don't have that cash, neither do Spurs.bman2 wrote: ↑4 years agoWe're in with a chance simply because we're one of the few clubs that might pay what Dortmund are asking for. We can offer him a starting spot every week. He'll be a big fish in a small pond in terms of commercial stuff. I believe his family is Manchester based too.
Lets see. No doubt we'll do our best to fuck it up.
Wasn't he a City youth player? We'll probably be the last club he'd want to join.Edfuckingwoodward wrote: ↑4 years agoBroadly, this is why I think it'll happen. Also... Dortmund players...
So apparently if ighalo does well, the loan move can be made permanent.
Happy days, see the long term transfer planning is paying off, ship out big rom, and replace him with a guy who is about 60mill cheaper.
Its gonna be another great summer for transfers.
