I think the time is right for LVG to drop both Rooney and RVP. There are 2 games at OT before another dreaded int break with the Chelsea and City games soon afterwards. RVP is clearly not fit and firing and Falcao should be given a few starts. Rooney has been ok but maybe needs the bench to light a fire under his arse again.

Play Mata and Falcao with Di Maria and Januzaj at home. LVG has big balls ~ as reports suggest at his time at Bayern ~ so it's it's time he used them to make some tough decisions. He should start Shaw as well.

Time to put things right in the next 2 games at home. No more fucking about!

van Gaal bought Rojo based on what he saw at the WC in 6 games. Looks shit now and the portuguese media didn't rate him either. Won't be hard for Shaw to win a place in the team.

Meulensteen has just become a reliable shit-stirrer for the papers, it's a bit sad. There could be some basis to LVG not rating Shaw, since he hasn't even really brought him on as a sub. I would have thought if Shaw is fit that a good solution for our defensive problems would be to play Rojo as CB and Shaw on the left.

Anyway, for me the automatic starters at the moment are Falcao (since he's looked livelier than RVP), Mata, Di Maria, Herrera, Blind, DDG and probably Rojo. I'd probable still favour starting with Rooney, but up with Falcao, not in Mata's position. The diamond 4-4-2 thing still seems the best option, though after this weekend you'd have to start thinking we might need two midfield screeners for the defense, in a 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-1-2 type deal.

DDG
Raf ... Jones? ... Rojo ... Shaw
Blind ... Herrera
Jacuzzi ... Mata ... Di Maria
Falcao

Agree with your 4-2-3-1 but assume Jones won't start so Blackett in. Tough call, but you are probably right about benching Rooney for a game. Who would captain - Blind?
