Aye soft pen but Newcastle have been taking out Chelsea players all game, so they ran the risk
Benitez has done well to mute Chelsea's attack though. They've handled Hazard well. Makes you wonder if there's still call for 'academic' type managers like Rafa who prioritise tactics. Might those types come back and kill this era of attacking football.

Such a shame, Newcastle were getting something out of this
I don't think so, for me attacking football keeps teams under pressure and limits their chances of getting their game together. If this was us playing Newcastle we'd have dropped off and given them more of the ball and invited them on. At least Newcastle's goal today was a bit of a freak and Chelsea continue the pressure and pull it back. We'd be losing or drawing and holding on by now.Sid wrote: ↑5 years ago Aye soft pen but Newcastle have been taking out Chelsea players all game, so they ran the risk

True tbf. Modern attacking football is built on the intense high press which creates a lot more chances and thus gives you a lot more chances to win, whilst being defensively solid.Lazarus wrote: ↑5 years agoI don't think so, for me attacking football keeps teams under pressure and limits their chances of getting their game together. Anyways another good win for Chelsea. 8 goals in 3 games for them.
