There seems to be a lot more goals in this era of football. It's great tbf. There's a clear emphasis on creativity and attacking football. It's not just shite teams getting battered either, it's Bayern smashing Barca 8-0.

City 5-2 down at home. When's the last time they conceded 5? Don't think it's happened in the sportwashing era

City need that new CB cos their defending is shite. They haven't addressed any of their problems

It's not just us that's having fitness issues, the lack of a proper preseason and rest from last season is hurting everyone

Yeah, there'll be some weird results in the first month. And probably some high scoring games.

Yeah the clubs that had a lot of European football are especially fucked. The big squads should help them, but in our case, half the squad isn’t trusted by the manager, so we’re well fucked.

City did buy a CB for a sizeable fee. My heart bleeds for them that they haven’t bought a second one yet this window.

Leicester ran out of steam last season, but they might have the advantage this season.

I think teams like City that play with a high press are especially fucked cos the fitness isn't there to carry out a proper, consistent press. It was too easy for Leicester to break out and hurt em.

Bayern stuffed by Hoffenheim 4-1!
Hilarious really - coach is Sebastian Hoeneß, son of Dieter, nephew of Uli and ex Bayern reserve coach.

This is a great read about modern football, and shows why pundits like Keane are becoming a bit irrelevant

https://www.theguardian.com/football/bl ... x-ferguson

"But that is how football is now played. Operate with a high line as pretty much every elite club now does and the possibility of a ball played in behind is always there. Bayern won the Champions League despite perpetually seeming on the brink of being exposed. A slight deficiency in the press, a moment when the player on the ball isn’t placed under immediate pressure, can mean a simple through-ball."

Calvert-Lewin scored his second hatrick of the season. 8 goals for him in 5 games so far. Ancelotti turning him into a player.

Grealish two assists to put Villa 3-1 ahead of City so far. It’s going to be a wild and wacky season.
