vs Spurs
A good result but we've got a lot to improve on. IMO our performance was poor the second half. We were too defensive; like a bottom half team defending for their lives against a top team for 45 mins. The only difference being, when we went forward in the second half, we were still quality and there was good teamwork and cohesion in our attacks. That's the improvement under Ole. But he hasn't gotten rid of the fear in the squad. Our players seem still to afraid of the strong teams when we have (on paper) the better players.
Hmm I'm seeing this on occassion.

Might sound daft, but it probably strengthens our negotiating position on Poch. If they’d twatted us today, imagine how the conversation goes. Now, we can at least try and play it a bit cooler and nudge Poch to agitate a bit - if he wants it.FuB wrote: ↑2 years agoObviously it isn't that cut and dried and De Gea seriously saved our bacon but Poch and Spurs were favourites to win that and didn't. This doesn't necessarily make Ole the man for the long term job but it's got to hurt any ambition Poch might have.ashleyfuckingyoung wrote: ↑2 years agoTop drawer first 45. Second half was about digging in - spurs are a quality side.
Didn’t see us keeping a clean sheet here. The most competitive we’ve been in a big away game for 3-4 years.
Inevitable that the ‘Ole beat Poch so he should get it’ chat will now start.

He needs to shut the fuck up and play football, show us game after game what he can do.

There was a spell of about 15 mins in the second half where I posted ‘next goal wins it’. With a bit more composure and maybe fitness, on the break we could have had a second and then the game settles and we probably go on to control it.
It comes with time. That bit of authority and belief to manage games against good teams. It’ll take time and a few new players.
Digging deep after about 60 mins but that makes a change from setting out to dig deep from minute 1.
