First game back after the upcoming international break is Liverpool, so we'd better get some players back from injury or else it will be embarrassing
I'm not even watching. It'll be humiliating.

Fuck, I assumed this was on at 8. But now I'm glad I missed it, it sounds shocking. 0-0. Alkmaar had more possession and twice the number of shots. This shit is so far from being acceptable, i can't even.

Apparently, it's the first time in our history that weve failed to register a shot on target for a European game.

Breaking records.

I don't know how you lot can watch this shit every week. There's no excitement, no attacking football, no intent to win a match...what's the point?

No transfer window between now and then so I expect it to be REAL UGLY.

I'm all for playing the kids but games like this can stunt their growth because all they're learning is how to play badly, whilst being under massive amounts of pressure

Fergie included the kids much more effectively, drip feeding em in at Old Trafford when we were 3-0 up - that meant everything was positive, fun, and the crowd didn't get on their backs

But under the Glazers we lack the quality and this season, the numbers, so we're reliant on em
I was adamant pre-season that we disregard the big money signings and give the kids a chance - I still stand by that to a degree - but when the more senior players aren't delivering the goods, I feel really sorry for them. Where's their inspiration? Who are they looking to and learning from?

I'm now concerned that we're demotivating them totally, rather than giving them a platform to shine amidst the current dross

Rumours of Pogba pushing for a new contract on £600,000 a week probably aren't exactly helping squad commitment. Think about that for a minute - £31.2 million a year. If I was in the squad and heard that and compared it to his performances on the pitch and what I was being paid in comparison...
I think you can begin to see what is going wrong. It's actually compounding the Sanchez problem from last season.

Well if you pay Sánchez £500k a week, it’s bloody obvious that a Raiola client is going to demand more. The club clunky has itself to blame: they showed that they’re willing to pay what they consider top talent that wage.

Best thing to do to turn the page is get a DoF in who can plausibly claim there’s a new order on the football side of things and salary decisions are made by him. As long as the buck stops with Woodward, every agent can say to him, well you paid Sánchez this amount, I want the same.
