We've had a couple of moments over the last 4 or 5 years where things looked like they might be on the up, so I say this with a huge degree of caution.... but there was a Liverpool game under Klopp a couple of years ago where they snatched a late draw at home to someone like West Brom. They celebrated with the Kop like they'd won the league and everyone took the piss, but their fans look back on it as the moment where the team and fans healed a few bridges and properly bought into each other. We might just look back on yesterday's result as something similar in a couple of years. The scenes at full time haven't been seen for a while and it felt like it was about more than just beating City.
For the first time in a while, theres something relatable and likeable to buy into with this group. A proper team ethic now the likes of Pogba, Lingard, Sanchez and Lukaku are out. The players look like they want to be part of a football team, not just playing for the cash or Instagram followers.
We have a long, long way to go. And its imperative that we make the right moves in the summer - Pogba and Lingard out, Sancho and Grealish in, add a striker into the mix, and itll be a big stride forward.
We're finally facing in the right direction and have the bones of a plan. But we cant half arse it from here.

One reason to be cautious is that the league is weak as piss this season. In a normal season, you'd usually need 70-something points to qualify for the Champo. This season, you'll probably need less than 60 points. So the fact that we're in the mix with the likes of Sheffield and Wolves fighting for fifth is still objectively mid table by the standards of a more typical PL season. We've still got the fewest number of wins and points ever for United in the PL era. Chelsea gave up on this season before it even started because of their transfer ban, hired a popular ex player to give the supporters something to care about, and they're still ahead of us.
Yeah, but there's still no sign of the main thing, and that's an end to this Joey shite. It doesn't win leagues anymore, so we need to get with the times and dominate games.

You can only achieve that with a better squad. Imagine us having Grealish, Sancho, Pogba (fully fit and motivated to stay), Umtiti/Koulibaly next season. We might then start seeing a philosophy.
Yeah tbf he has to be given time. So far all his signings have been good, so there's hope.fat maradona wrote: ↑11 months agoYou can only achieve that with a better squad.
