I listened to a radio debate about Jose yesterday. Leaving aside his ‘contribution’ to United, it questioned his mental health.

A few people who know him well have called out concerns over his well being. Living in a hotel so far from his family, his father passed 18 months ago. Journo’s that he knows well say that until the last couple of years he was good company away from the game, good sense of humour etc. There’s none of that now - he’s dour, complaining constantly etc.

He needs a long break from the game if you ask me. He shouldn’t return until he’s fit to do so, and I think the only way he has a chance of being successful again is if he’s humble enough to reinvent himself and look honestly at where he needs to change.

You wonder whether his change in personality is down to the fact he's struggling to stay at the top of the game now he's in his mid 50s, which is when a lot of top managers struggle to remain relevant, or whether it's down to personal reasons. One thing that's overlooked is the impact Rui Faria clearly had. When he got fed up of Joses shit and fucked him off, Mourinho got even worse, on and off the pitch. He cuts a lonely figure now. It was telling the day after he got sacked he went for a walk down his street in london that was full of press in order to tell them "I have a future without Man United" - he's having to convince potential clubs he's still able to manage.

On a side note I think Pep could go the same way as Jose when he's in his 50s. It depends how football changes and whether teams find a solution. But he's similarly intense, loves himself (although doesn't show it as much) and is used to winning. So if he fails to reinvent I can see him crashing hard too. But it won't be as bad because he hasn't made as many enemies as Jose, in the media, in the game, players, fans, 'specialist in failure' etc.

Fair point on Pep Sid. Be interesting to see how he reacts if they end up potless.

Puts into even more context how phenomenonal Ferguson was, staying at the top for so long.

Anyone wondering where Pulis might go next, he rejected a job offer from Benfica

Biggest club in portugal tbf. They expect to be top but they're not. However they're not doing badly enough to merit the massive changes Mourinho would bring IMO. The club would soon regret it.

I don't give a shit where he goes. But like all annoying things he'll turn up again at some point and be just as irritating.

Lots of talk here that he's going back to Madrid. I know that has already been mooted in the press in the UK but the story is gaining weight here it seems.
I may be able to fix a forum but I can't fix a fuckwit

Yeah and he's already asked for a CB :))

Madrid are tanking, they need a massive rebuild now the Ronaldo era is over. They're like us after Gaal, floundering, looking for a big name to fill the void. But Mourinho isn't the man. He's the ultimate short term manager. But he'll do better in La Liga than the Prem because it's less competitive and there's no Klopp, Pep, Sarri, Poch etc.

I read a mad thing yesterday - Madrid won 4 european cups out of 5 immediately after Mourinho left - with the same squad. He was holding them back like he was us.

He's totally the wrong man for the job. Their thought process is probably the same as ours when we went for him - but they've already had the cunt once so they know what he's about! Madness!

Maybe they think that with Ronaldo now gone, there's room for his ego.

Real will probably want Poch so Ole won't have to worry about him come the summer.

Yeah Poch sent a group of representatives to speak to Madrid earlier in the season. He's a better shout for a long term rebuild than the bus driver. The Mourinho links might be a bit far fetched n all, as he's just took a well paid contract as a pundit with beIN sports.
