Pogba is the only player we currently have who can rampage through a defense and cause trouble. He’s faffing in deep midfield now with the odd penetrating pass, because Ole didn’t buy a player for that role. Yeah he does that for France, but France has him passing up to Mbappe and Griezmann ffs, totally different prospect. Partner Tuanzebe with Maguire and pick whichever midfielder you think is best to sit in front of them. Then the third midfielder can help get a bit of a passing game going. It’s still not going to be amazing. But at least we’d be playing a bit of football.
Unless he does something different with the RW, we should play with 352. Then it doesn't matter so much that we don't have a RW or a DM and we're not playing one up top without a forward who can really do it. Football's a weak link game and we've got no 9, 10 or RW and Pogba in a 2 without Kante is always going to be a mess.

But it's ridiculous he never changes anything. A terrible start to the season and not only is the system unchanged, but he's playing the same XI, as far as injuries allow. Maybe we're amazing in training because our clueless players get to play against each other.

We have to give Ole his full 3 seasons. For once he's done well this transfer window and we can't keep churning managers. At least Ole has bought well. Great managers have been crap for us and we're trying the same thing.

Formations arent really the issue and at the minute, neither is the manager. Daft as it sounds.

Our ship has no rudder. Unless we have a clear, football driven strategy that's led by capable professionals at the top of the club, an effective recruitment strategy and a well structured scouting network that aligns to both, we're fucked.

3 seasons is a long long time ... within 3 games we might ask for his head. If he improves his tactics, whole team attitude than its ok. We would all like to see entertaining loss than a boring draw. There is no shame in losing if we trying to improve and playing the right way. But playing defensive football just not to lose is very pathetic. First and foremost he has to start playing the right way.. else old trafford will ask for his head. And also as a manager he should be able to identify right players for right position, he should be able to identify potential and also weakness in his players. I dont see any change especillay in Rashford. He is playing same way since 1 year. Lot of managers change players' mindset for their own improvement. How much time Ole needs to work on Rashford, Pogba, Fred Parreira, Lingaard??

All that said.... Poch is having a tough time at Spurs right now. Would he be available? Would we still want him?

Yeah it does feel like rearranging deck chairs on the titanic.

Ole is responsible for the on the pitch shite, like how he's doing his best Jose impression. But looking at the wider picture, it's not his fault we didn't replace Herrera, Fellaini and Lukaku. The wage bill wouldn't allow it. Yet we have 13 defenders at the club. We're just poorly run.

To take a call on that would be like OLE Out or OLE in. Ole needs to be given time and jury is still out on him whether he deserves his long term contract.

Stopping the managerial merry go round is a great idea, but not if we're stopping it on an incompetent manager. Stability is not much use if it means consistent incompetence. I'm not saying Ole is incompetent, I'm just saying it's not clear that he's not, because he has no record at all that we can put stock in. It would have made more sense to stick with Jose and back him, because at least he was a proven winner, and it getting 80 points and second place, he's done a lot better than any other post-Ferguson manager. And I don't even like Jose, I'm just saying, suddenly deciding that the interim manager from the Norwegian league is worth 3 years is a bit of a left-field choice, and so far it's a bit of a disaster.

352 would perhaps make the best of the personnel available. You could put James and Dalot wide, they're both quick and work hard, though it's a shame we don't have a lefty who can play wide. Is Mata our only lefty?

Ole seems very rigid with this 4-2-3-1 all of a sudden, especially since that's not what he was doing last season. Tactically, we really do seem very similar to Jose's approach at the moment, or a crap version of Domenech's French set up.

Far too early to be whining about Ole. He needs until next Christmas.
