Is 'give him time' really supportive? It's basically saying that in the future he might become an acceptable manager - thus acknowledging that he's shit right now. Really, what else is anyone in the club going to say? They can't say what they really think, so they regurgitate the BS the club has been spouting for months.

It's not, give him time to become good enough to manage United... it's give him time to make this team his own... the argument is that, he inherited a load of rubbish, and what little quality he's got, isn't good enough to form "HIS" team... so, we're being asked to give him the chance to spend properly in the summer, buy "HIS" players, build "HIS" team, and then play "HIS" football... and normally, I think this would be an acceptable argument...

Problem is... United has fallen so badly under Mopes, that we're a rubbish prospect to any top players we want to sign... our decline has been witnessed and recorded by all the sports worlds press... everyone knows how bad it is... Old Trafford is a day out for visiting teams now, our reputation as a team that never surrenders is gone, the team spirit is shot, there are constant rumours of discontent amongst the players, and some of our senior pros are quitting,(we may know that Vidic and Evra are past it, but to the rest of the world it looks like they're bailing out)... plus we won't be able to offer Champs league football, to players who now put Champs league football into their contracts, as a get out if the team fails to get in... on top of all this, Mopes is largely being held responsible for how bad the team has fallen... so, what sane player wants to play for him???

It's a ridiculous situation that the fans are being asked to accept... only a fool would give this manager £100+million and allow him to spend it... even if you really do have faith in his ability, it's the nature of football, and the nature of our dilemma, that he won't be able to sign the quality of players we need, because they just won't want United... What we're going to get is the overpriced, second rate players that are too expensive for mid table teams, and are only squaddies on the big teams benches... we're going to have a whole team full of Fellainis, Youngs, and Valencias, and Rooney!

We need a big name to take over now, a manager of reputation and standing that says to prospective players, "join me in this project, and we'll do something amazing"... even he will struggle at first, but he'll have a better chance than Mopes... it's fuckin dire...

Spot on . His dithering, staff clear out and a complete lack of direction may have sealed his fate. Again, his lack of achievement against the top teams may persist regardless of signings. He's adequate for a mid table team but not the top teams.

I hope they have a good manager lined up ffs

Aye

Why should United wait for him to get up to scratch, to figure it out, when we could give it to someone who knows what they're doing

FFS we know all this since before Christmas and the January window and everything since then has just been confirmation of what we've known.

He's not the man capable of digging us out of this mess and certainly won't take us back to the very top of World football.
