Right, forget about my prediction about the Belgians.

It's coming home.

England need to calm down now and focus Ukraine, otherwise they'll fuck it up

I fancy England against all of the big teams but Italy. Spain's defence is shite and Belgium are missing key players. They're also a bit like France in that they have no identity. But Italy will be hard, especially this team that scores a lot of goals. But this is where Southgate's conservatism is good because it suits high pressure knock out games. England still haven't conceded a goal. So we present a difficult puzzle for the opposition too.

To be fair, Germany were dire. England exploited their defensive weakness and deserved the win, but will have to improve going forward.
Grealish really must surely be a starter in the next game. Sterling was clearly the game's outstanding player but I worry about Kane. A good goal to round things off, but otherwise didn't really impose himself. Would he start if he wasn't captain?

Most of the shitehouse teams are on one side of the bracket, and the better teams are on the other side. England’s probably the best of the shitehouse teams, and they’re playing at home, so an easy run to final. Chances are whoever they meet in the final will be knackered from battling their way through decent teams. Given how much in wages each of those English players earns every week, it would be a disgrace if they don’t get to the final now.

Belgium's defence is their weak link. Italy can beat them if they keep testing their defence imo. Game looks very even and very entertaining so far

Yeah this is a good match. Italy started to take control though, Belgium needed that penalty to stay in the game.

De Bruyne fell asleep, Pogba style, for Italy’s second goal. They’re actually very similar players. Imagine how much criticism de Bruyne would get if Pep played him in a double pivot with some very average player….

Sterling is exceptional. Wins the ball, very aggressive and also holds up play. Great assist today.
