That's an excellent point. We don't have enough centre backs as cover. Actually we do but they're both terrible and injured. But it's too early to say. This wingback formation has its flaws and other teams will counter this better than spurts. Imo it suits us because we have shit wingers. Even Greenwood must play in the middle, but not as the main striker.bman2 wrote: ↑2 years agoIt’s just the Ole boom-and-bust cycle. We usually get it at least twice a season. Once we start getting battered because of our inability to play like a big club, we go back to a siege mentality and bus parking. He often plays three at the back in these situations.
It’s hard to get above 80 league points playing this way though. The other serious problem he has now, as you’ve pointed out, is that his transfer business has all been based on a totally different vision. He only has 3 CBs he trusts, so 3 at the back clearly isn’t plan A. Also we don’t really have any convincing wingbacks except Telles and Dalot, and he also plainly doesn’t trust either of those. Finally, if we’re only playing 3 forwards or attacking midfielders, he probably shouldn’t have added at least six of them to the squad over the past two seasons.
Vs Tottenham
Yeah Spurs were desperate. Not a single shot on target, but they somehow managed to be shit at the back as well. We were sitting deep with two not especially fast forwards in Ronaldo and Cavani, but still managed to open them up easily for the first two goals. Spurs has just been in total free fall since Pochettino left. They were as bad today as we were against Liverpool.

17 games for Nuno is not a lot. Hard to see what Conte can do in that set up. The squad is set up for attacking football n all, yet Levy has gone for another counterattacking manager.

I'm actually kind of glad that conte is off the table. I think he's wrong for us.
